Introduction

‫‬

In a time when discussions about artificial intelligence and smart search are increasing, you might think that professionals have become entirely reliant on digital tools for their decisions.

But a new study from LinkedIn (August 2025) revealed a surprise:Professionals still trust their human networks more than any algorithm or search engine.

Key findings of the study

‫‬

🔹 43% of professionals turn first to their networks (colleagues and acquaintances) when they need work advice, before any AI or Google.

🔹 64% say their colleagues help them make decisions faster and with more confidence.

🔹 There has been an 82% increase in posts discussing feelings of overwhelm or facing change, which shows that people are seeking a trusted human voice amidst the chaos.

The pressures of learning AI

‫‬

The study also revealed that continuous learning of AI has become an additional burden:

  • 51% see developing AI skills as akin to a "second job."

  • 33% feel embarrassed about their lack of knowledge.

  • 35% feel anxious when discussing AI at work.

Even the younger generation (18–24 years) despite their openness to technology, 75% of them said that AI cannot replace intuition and advice from trusted colleagues.

The impact on marketing and business

‫‬

  • 77%B2B marketing leaders have said that purchasing decisions are influenced by professional networks as much as by the company's own channels.

  • Millennials and Gen Z now represent71%of buyers, and they trust people (creators, employees, experts) more than traditional advertising campaigns.

  • 80%of marketers plan to increase investment in community-driven content.

‫‬

This means thattrust is not built solely through advertisements, but through real human voices: employees sharing their experiences, experts publishing specialised content, and interactive communities enhancing credibility.

Why is this important for you?

‫‬

The equation is simple:

If you want your message to be heard, invest in building a strong network.

Share your real experiences instead of relying solely on AI tools.

Make your content personal, shareable, and focused on the actual value to the reader.

In summary

‫‬

Trust is the currency of today.

And despite all the advancements in artificial intelligence, humans remain the primary source of credibility.

Think about this: before people search for you on Google or ask ChatGPT, they often ask, "Who knows this person?" or "What does my professional network think?".
